How to Make Spicy Korean Beef Noodles

Take a small bowl and whisk together ingredients like gochujang, green onions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and sugar.

Place large skillet on the stove top on medium range heat. Use tong to transfer the steaks from plastic bags to skillet. You can also use hands to transfer steaks from plastic bag to skillet. Keep the remaining marination in plastic bag. Cook the steaks for 5-6 minutes on side and after 6 minutes turns the side of steaks. Cook the other side until it turns brown from outside. Transfer the steaks to the cutting board and let it rest for sometime on cutting board before moving to next step. Add onions, mushrooms, ramen noodles, ramen seasoning, and beef marinade that was left in plastic bag to the pan. Pour water in it and simmer it properly for sometime. Allow it to cook for 6-7 minutes until noodles become soft and cooked through.

The steaks on the cutting board are cool down now. Thinly sliced the steaks across the grain. Add the steaks strips and mix together all the mixture to give it a smooth texture. Cook it for sometime until the steaks are hot throughout. Garnish the noodles with green onions and serve immediately.

Spicy Korean Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 4 tablespoons gochujang (This is form of chili paste. It can be found in Asian section in any grocery store)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions ( thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons garlic
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 packages beef ramen and seasoning 
  • 1 and 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 white onion

Directions

1- Take a small bowl and whisk together ingredients like gochujang, green onions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and sugar.

2- Now take a plastic bag and add half of above prepared mixture in it and add steak in plastic bag. Make sure to remove all the air out while adding steaks in plastic bag. Toss or shake the steaks to mix well with the ingredients. Place the plastic bag in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or over night for more delicious flavor. Set aside the remaining mixture until it is ready to use.

Notes/Tips

You can buy the gochujang sauce from any grocery store. The gochujang sauce is available in the Asian section of almost all grocery stores. If you do not want to use the manufactured sauce, you can prepare it in home too. For preparing this gochujang sauce at home you need to mash together 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes, 2 teaspoons soy sauce, and 1/4 teaspoon sugar to form a paste. This paste may not look exactly like that of gochujang sauce but it will gives good flavor to noodles.
