How to Cook Seitan Ground Beef

Take a measuring cup and whisk it in some ingredients together. Mix the ingredients like broth, smoke liquid, garlic and olive oil in measuring cup. Take large bowl and add some white gluten, yeast, flour, dried seasoning and salt in it. Form a well in the dry ingredients in bowl and 1 teaspoon paprika.

Knead for some minutes to develop a gluten. Leave the dough to rest for about 30 minutes. After resting the dough or 30 minutes. knead again for 30 seconds. Place the dough from bowl on the cutting board and divide the dough into 4 equal parts.

Take aluminium foil and tear the foil into 4 equal parts. Place the dough in the center of the foil. Cover the dough with foil loosely. Leave this dough in foil at room temperature for some time. Do not twist the ends of the foil and make severe loaf shape for the Seitan you plane to grinding. You can do multitasking at this step. you can place the loaves on stove for steaming. Pour about 1 inch of water in a saucepan and add a spoon of soy sauce in it. After adding soy sauce add some garlic cloves in it. If you do not like garlic than do not add it. Cover it with steamer basket.

Steaming Process

Place it in steamer basket and steam it for about 30 minutes. Allow the dough to become cool to the touch. After cooling rip it into pieces. Take a food processor and place it in food processor. Pulse it until it is just ground. Do not over grind it. Use it in recipe as you would cooked or raw ground beef. You can freeze it for about 2 weeks. Take it from freezer if you want to use it in recipe.

  • 1/2 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
