  • Flour
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Powdered sugar

How to Prepare Cream Cheese Lemon Bars

Now its time to prepare the crust. For preparing crust mix together flour, sugar, salt, and butter cubes. Place all these ingredients in food processor or blender. Pulse it until soft crumbles formed. You can mix the ingredients well with the help of spoon, folk or with hands. Place the crust into the baking tray and press it. Bake it for 15 minutes. Meanwhile prepare the fillings for the crust,

Take a large bowl and add cream cheese and sugar in it. Stir together cream cheese and sugar until it becomes smooth texture. Mix in flour, eggs, vanilla essence and lemon juice in it. Mix well to form a smooth paste filling. Keep stirring until the ingredients are incorporated with each other. Pour the filling over the crust bake in oven and again place the tray in oven for 30 minutes.

Allow the mixture to cool for 30 minutes. Cover it and place it in refrigerator for chilling for 4 hours or over night. Lift the foil edges to remove the cream cheese bars from foil and pan. Slice the bars into your favorite shape. I slice the bars in rectangle shape and sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

Can You Freeze Cream Cheese Lemon Bars?

Yes for sure! You can freeze Cream Cheese Lemon Bars. There is nothing harmful in freezing the lemons. If you eat the lemon bars and there are some leftovers than you can store these lemon bars by placing them in refrigerator. Place these lemon bars in air tight container and it can be stored for couple of weeks.

Freezing Instructions

If you want to freeze this Cream Cheese Lemon Bars as whole than let it cool properly after baking. After that wrap it in plastic wrap, followed by foil. Now place it in freezer and you can freeze it for 4 months in freezer. When you want to use it than remove it from freezer an hour before eating. It should be serve at room temperature so if you forget to remove it from freezer before time than you can microwave it too foe about few seconds.

If you want to freeze this Cream Cheese Lemon Bars in single slices than let them cool after baking and than place them in refrigerator over night. Slice the whole brad into pieces and than wrap the single slice with plastic wrap. Place wrap slices in plastic bags or in airtight container and freeze up to 4 months. When you want to eat it remove slices from freezer and eat them.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter (Cut into small pieces)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
for the filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cups fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions

1- Preheat the oven at temperature of 350 degree. Take 9 x 15 inch baking tray and cover the tray with foil with a lot of overhang around the edges to lift the bars out of pan before cutting it.
