How to make Shredded Chicken
Step One: Place the chicken breast on cutting board. You have two options you can shred the breast piece after boiling it or you can cut the breast into pieces and than boil it an shred it after boiling. Both the methods are same because in the end we will get the chicken in shred form. Our requirement is Shredded Chicken so it is not important which method we are adopting.
Step Two: You can add seasoning of your own choice. I add some salt and black pepper in it but you can add seasoning like bay leaves, thymes, oregano or dried herbs as well. It will enhance the flavor. If you want to preserve the chicken for using in different recipes than I will recommend you to add salt and black pepper only so that it may not disturbs the taste of other recipes as well.
Step Three: Place the chicken in some pot and add water in it. Add water in such a way that chicken is fully dip in water. Add 1 inch of water according to my assumptions. If you are shredding chicken in large quantity than take large pot so that chicken is cook fully.
Step Four: Place the pot on the flame and than turn on the flame and cover with lid. Cook for 20-25 minutes and check the chicken from inside and turn the sides of chicken so that it is cook from inside. You can use baking oven as well. Place the chicken breast on baking tray and and bake them for 20 minutes.
Step Five: At last remove the pot from the stove and turn the flame off. Remove chicken from water and it is ready to use.
How to store Shredded Chicken
There are two methods of storing the Shredded Chicken like you can store it in refrigerator or you can freeze it as well.
Refrigerate Shredded Chicken: You can refrigerate the chicken for 4-5 days. Pace the cook chicken in airtight box and remove it from refrigerator when you want to use it.
Freeze Shredded Chicken: You can freeze this Shredded Chicken for months. Remove it from freezer an hour ago before using. So that the chicken may become soft and can be use easily. Place these Shredded Chicken in some air tight bags or in some air tight box.
How to Shred Chicken Easily
Using Fork: You can shred the chicken by using two forks. This method is old but its simple. Place fork on the chicken and than shred the chicken with other fork. This method is time taking but it is easy.
Stand Mixer: This method is so easy that you just have to break up the chicken into small pieces and place these chicken pieces into the bowl of stand mixer. Than shred the chicken with stand mixer.
Hand Mixer: Use the method mention above in stand mixer, after breaking the chicken into pieces shred them with help of hand mixer by keeping the speed medium.
Food Processor: This method will give you the best texture of shred chicken. You have to break the chicken into pieces and place it in blender and blend it properly. Use plastic blades instead of steel blades so that chicken may not be shred into more soft form. Do this process two times. By dividing chicken into two portions will help in shredding the chicken in more good way.

- 1-4 Chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
- Place the chicken in large pot and add 1 inch of water in it. Put the pot on the stove and turn the flame on. Cover the pot with some lid. Boil the chicken for 15 minutes and turn the sides of breast pieces so that the chicken is cook from inside too.
- Add salt and black pepper in it.
- When the chicken is boil properly turn the flame off and transfer the chicken in a strainer so that water move out.
- Shred the chicken in any one of the methods mention above. I preferably use fork method to shred the chicken because that method is easy going and gives a good texture.
- You can use this chicken in any recipe you want to add and you can eat it in this way too as it is source of rich proteins.
- Place the remaining chicken in airtight box or in airtight container and store it in freezer for couple of days.
