One day I was sitting and my friend call me and asked me the instructions to make Roasted Pecans. At that day I came to know that there are many people who even do not know how to cook Roasted Pecans. So that’s why I have decided to include this recipe in my website. So it may help the ones who have no idea about the instructions.

The recipe of Roasted Pecans is so simple that you will think that why you haven’t think of this recipe by yourself. You only need simple ingredients just like butter, pecans and salt. By using these simple three ingredients you can make delightful snacks of Roasted Pecans.

All you have to do is melt the butter. You can use microwave for this or you can cook it on stovetop. It really doesn’t matter what method you are using as the results are same by using both of them.

When the butter is melted pour the pecans into large bowl so that it can be mix in proper way. When butter is melted properly shift the butter in the bowl containing the pecans and stir them properly until all the Pecans are coated properly. Pour the coated pecans into the baking tray and and spread them fully in such a way that only single layer is form. Garnish some salt over the pecans. You can use sea salt, seasoning salt or table salt.

Bake them well until a golden brown color comes out. This brings out the rich meatiness of pecan flavor. When they are turn golden brown pour the Roasted Pecans into serving bowl and let them cool for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes when they are at room temperature serve them.

Should Roasted Pecans Can be Refrigerated

Yes pecans can be refrigerated after roasting them in baking oven. You roast pecans and refrigerate it or freeze it for many days. It will not disturb their nutrients. Once you roast the pecans break them into parts. Use one part and eat them after roasting them in oven. Refrigerate the second portion and use them when you want to eat healthy snacks. They are ready to east just microwave them for five minutes and eat them.

All the nuts including pecans contains oil and it can turn rancid in some days if it is place at room temperature for too long.

Roasted and Toasted Pecans Are Same Thing?

If we talk in technical terms than you can use the both terminology for same thing but in real they are different from each other. In roasting we take raw nuts, expose it to direct heat and cook it in all way through this.

While toasting means the outer coating is golden brown. Toasted nuts are only brown from outside. It is not necessary to cook them fully while roasting includes proper cooking while exposing to direct heat.

Roasted Pecans


  • 3 cups of Shelled Pecans
  • 1/3 cup of Melted Butter
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt (You can increase or decrease the amount according to your taste)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.
  2. Take a small pan and melt the butter in it. You can melt butter in microwave oven too.
  3. In mean while place the shelled pecans into large mixing bowl.
  4. When butter is melt fully, add the butter into bowl having pecans and stir them properly until the pecans are coated fully.
  5. Pour the pecans into the baking tray. Spread them fully on the sheet so that there is no overlapping and only single layers is formed.
  6. Sprinkle salt over the pecans on baking tray.
  7. Place the tray in baking oven and bake for 10 minutes. Check after 10 minutes, if they are golden brown than remove the tray from oven and if it has light color than bake them for more time in the oven. Take of a lot of care because it will burn quickly if you put them in oven for long time.
  8. Let them cool for 5 minutes and serve them by placing them in serving bowl.
