Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 French bread or hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Creole mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce
  • 2 cups Lettuce, shredded
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, sliced
  • for serving Pickles

Instructions

    In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to make blackening seasoning.

    Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and coat generously with the blackening seasoning.

    Make remoulade sauce by mixing mayonnaise, Creole mustard, and hot sauce. Set aside.

    Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot.

    Add butter to the skillet and let it melt.

    Add seasoned shrimp in a single layer (work in batches if needed).

    Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp are blackened and cooked through.
