  • 1/2 cup sugar, or as needed.
  • Water as required.

Recipe Directions

  1. Place 4 cups 1/2 inch-cubed watermelon (about 1 1/4 pounds; lightly smashed) in a pitcher.
  2. Add 2 quarts of water in blender.
  3. Place 1 quarter of seltzer during prep and a second quarter just before serving.
  4. Add sugar to sweeten according to taste.
  5. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours to allow the ingredients to infuse.
  6. Stir well and strain, discarding the solids.
  7. For serving, add fresh lime wedges for garnish.


  • Check the button of blender while placing watermelon into it so that it may not start while placing the cut pieces of watermelon
  • Blend the watermelon at high speed and than on medium speed to get a smooth mixture than add gradually some water in it.
  • You can preserve this water for 1-2 days in refrigerator.
